Predator Christian Missionaries Targeting Muslim Refugees and Asylum Seekers in Europe?



This is a communication which is being sent to mosques to warn mosques about potential predatory Christian missionaries targeting Syrian Muslim refugees/asylum seekers.

Dear mosque leader/s

This is an important warning and call to action for your mosque.

I would not be surprised if Christian missionaries have designs to use the plight of Muslim asylum seekers and refugees entering European countries such as Germany and the UK. There's a report about Iranian and Afghan asylum seekers converting in Germany for what seems to be purposes of aiding their asylum seeker applications. Of course, there may be predator Christian missionaries out there looking to try and take advantage of the Syrian refugees thus it makes it even more important for Muslims to accept and assimilate the Syrian refugees into Muslim communities and mosques here in Europe:

Seek out Syrian refugees (and Asylum seekers) in your locality and offer them gifts and invitations to dinners and other events at the mosques.

- Put on free English/German classes for the refugees and asylum seekers at the mosque. You don't need professional teachers, you just need young British/German born-and-bred Muslims to volunteer to teach. However, you may have some qualified teachers in your mosque congregation - make use of them!

- Assist the refugees with paperwork, job applications and their daily shopping chores.

- Set up free Islamic classes for their youth and if required for their older people too.

- Be vigilant and help keep predatory Christian missionaries and other dangerous folk away from them.

- Brainstorm in your mosques and come up with other ideas and action plan that will benefit the Muslim refugees and asylum seekers.

Remember it's your duty to look out for these people and look out for their iman. The mosques are for all Muslims. Be inclusive. Be proactive.

Mohammed Ali Zonoobi bends his head as the priest pours holy water over his black hair. “Will you break away from Satan and his evil deeds?” pastor Gottfried Martens asks the Iranian refugee. “Will you break away from Islam?”

“Yes,” Zonoobi fervently replies. Spreading his hands in blessing, Martens then baptizes the man “in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.”

Mohammed is now Martin – no longer Muslim, but Christian.

Zonoobi, a carpenter from the Iranian city of Shiraz, arrived in Germany with his wife and two children five months ago. He is one of hundreds of mostly Iranian and Afghan asylum seekers who have converted to Christianity at the evangelical Trinity Church in a leafy Berlin neighborhood.

The decision will also greatly boost their chances of winning asylum by allowing them to claim they would face persecution if sent home.

Martens recognises that some convert in order to improve their chances of staying in Germany – but for the pastor motivation is unimportant. Many, he said, are so taken by the Christian message that it changes their lives. And he estimates that only about 10 percent of converts do not return to church after christening.

“I know there are – again and again – people coming here because they have some kind of hope regarding their asylum,” Martens said. “I am inviting them to join us because I know that whoever comes here will not be left unchanged.”

Being Christian alone does not help an applicant, and Chancellor Angela Merkel went out of her way this week to reiterate that Islam “belongs in Germany.” But in Afghanistan and Iran, for example, conversion to Christianity by a Muslim could be punished by death or imprisonment, and it is therefore unlikely that Germany would deport converted Iranian and Afghan refugees back home.
